Hi,

We are currently investivating with help of Cpanel support team to figure out the recent apacahe crash after we optimized and upgraded it, it might take some time to get it running again depending on the root of the issue. Nothing else have changed, cpanel and your control panel should be working fine. Data is safe too, just apache/httpd is not coming back online.

Will update this if something new comes up.

Here are the few things / updates performed by the administrator.

1) Reinstalled and configured SIM.
2) Apache update to 2.2.9 with PHP 5.2.6 as fcgi, Eaccelerator, mod_security, suhosin, Zend optimizer, curl and other options.
At this time, suhosin is in simulation mode.
3) Installed and configured CSF/LFD.
4) Disabled mailman, POP, IMAP and other unused services
5) Installed WHM theme 7 Dana. You can switch back to the default theme, if you don’t like it… I just like the collapsable menu, lol.
6) Ran a search for php shell scripts : the good news is that it returned nothing
7) Installed vnstat and added a web interface (WHM >> Server Status)
Updated logwatch
9) Optimized sysctl.conf
10) Hardened host.conf
11) Fixed logrotate bug
12) Secure /dev/shm
13) Added some useful scripts from PWS to WHM >> Server Status
14) Configured Background Process Killer
15) PHP.ini tweakings
16) Disabled anonymous FTP
